Christ Dyonisos (Ribera - Rubens)
Eli Tiunine - Christ Dyonisos (Ribera - Rubens)
An underground stream that accompanies the conscious surface and gives a sound to strings, stretched between these two spaces. As these two world visions, one coming from ancient Greece, colorful, delirious, intoxicating, dionysiaque and the other one, dark, austere, tragic, coming from the suffering world of Christianity. I was inspired by two painters who marked the Baroque period, which, in my opinion, are representative of this cohabitation which spans the years between the Dionysian, with carnal dreams, and sacrificial requirements of Christianity: José de Ribera (1591-1652) and Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640).
